Purpose & Intended Use
SafeWatch Registry exists to help families, parents, and communities make informed decisions about their safety. This tool is designed for awareness and safety planning — helping you understand who lives in your neighborhood so you can take appropriate precautions to protect your family.
Information Source & Accuracy
SafeWatch Registry aggregates information from official state sex offender registries across all 50 US states and the District of Columbia. This safety information is sourced directly from state law enforcement agencies and is updated daily. However:
- Information may not reflect the most current status of a registrant
- Some information may be inaccurate, incomplete, or outdated
- Registration information may change between our update cycles
- Not all states provide the same level of detail in their public registries
Users should verify all information with the official state registry before making any decisions based on this data. Links to official state registries are provided on each state page.
Not a Consumer Reporting Agency
SafeWatch Registry is not a consumer reporting agency as defined by the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA), 15 U.S.C. § 1681 et seq. The information provided through this website and API may not be used in whole or in part for the purpose of:
- Making employment decisions
- Screening tenants or making housing decisions

- Discriminate against any individual in housing, employment, education, or other services
- Contact or approach any registrant's family members for the purpose of harassment

Misuse of sex offender registry information is a criminal offense in many states. Persons who use this information to commit a crime or to harass or threaten a registrant or their family members may be subject to criminal prosecution.
Registrant Rights
Registered sex offenders have legal rights that must be respected. Registration with a sex offender registry is a legal requirement — it is not an indication of current dangerousness. Many registrants have completed their sentences, including supervision periods, and are working to reintegrate into their communities.
